Decreasing birthrate and aging of the population is the major social problem in developed countries, especially in Japan. Disaster preparedness and response in countries with advanced medical care system is considered as an informative reference. In an effort to aid the next generation families responsible for the regeneration of the community, significant improvement has been made by the cooperation of local government, medical and educational systems.
In this session, we present obstetric related issues and efforts based on the experience of the Great East Japan Earthquake, and demonstrate proposals for future disaster preparedness in the following session.
1.Maternal and child care related issues in Great East Japan Earthquake and efforts in capacity building project towards a global support system.
2.Advanced maternal and child disaster evacuation systems in local governments in Japan.
3.Disaster simulation training in local perinatal care systems.
Through these projects, our advanced efforts will provide a major contribution as a model case for disaster management in an aging society with diminishing number of children faced all developed countries globally.
