Women and men are differently impacted by hazards due to their ‘gendered’ role and patriarchal norms. Women are often marginalized from accessing and controlling their own resources therefore women are found to be exposed to range of additional risks during disasters. This event will use the South Asia Women’s Resilience Index to focus on national level policies and practices that impact women’s resilience to disasters.
