Located at 6,200 feet above sea-level, in India’s Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board headed by His Excellency Governor and managed by a senior bureaucrat from the Government of India and 4000 staff from different agencies,undertook a hands-on implementation of HFA’s since 2009 with a single mission to build resilience and bring attitudinal change amongst the staff, as the Himalayan range is vulnerable to natural & man-made disaster .The paper speaks of the challenges & recommendation towards Disaster Risk Reduction.
