In order to build disaster resilient communities, it is essential that women participate in decision-making at all levels, that they make interventions as DRR leaders and receive appropriate training to be able to do this. We have invited top experts who will stimulate discussion on how to implement an international training program. We will hear about programs that have been conducted in the three Prefetures must affected by the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. There will also be opportunities for participants to give their opinions and inputs, which we will compile into policy proposals and submit to the UN.
